Day 26

It’s a record-setting day!

Champ the Moose – mascot of the Special Olympics Ontario Virtual School Championships – issued everyone a challenge today of setting a new single-day walking record of 2,000 k m, and together we walked exactly that! 2,000 km in one day! That took us along the rivers and through the forests of northern Quebec over to the coast of James Bay, then we took a long walk along the shoreline north reaching Hudson Bay. We continued along the shoreline until we reached Akulivik, Quebec, a small Inuit community that was originally a Hudson’s Bay Company trading post.

Be sure to record your walking times today, and share any photos or stories about your walks using #WalkTheWorldSO on social media!
