Day 39

Today we set off from Nashville and made our way through Kentucky, passing through Louisville and Frankfort – home of the Special Olympics Kentucky head office! We then reached West Virginia, where we ended our 617.75 km day in Hurricane, West Virginia. Hurricane received its name when a party of surveyors that had been commissioned by George Washington noted that the site appeared to have been struck by a hurricane. Interestingly there is also a post office not far from Hurricane that is named Tornado. Hurricane is also home to the Special Olympics West Virginia head office!

Be sure to record your walking times today, and share any photos or stories about your walks using #WalkTheWorldSO on social media!
