Day 97

Today we wrapped up our island hopping through the Caribbean and made it through:

  • Guadeloupe – home to over 900 Special Olympics athletes
  • St. Kitts and Nevis – home to over 200 Special Olympics athletes and Unified Partners
  • St. Maarten – home to over 80 Special Olympics athletes
  • US Virgin Islands – home to over 200 Special Olympics athletes and Unified Partners
  • Puerto Rico – home to over 600 Special Olympics athletes and Unified Partners
  • Dominican Republic – home to over 2,000 Special Olympics athletes and Unified Partners
  • Haiti – home to over 1,500 Special Olympics athletes and Unified Partners
  • Cuba – home to over 66,000 Special Olympics athletes and Unified Partners
  • Bahamas – home to over 440 Special Olympics athletes and Unified Partners

From there, we took a virtual flight way up north to Iceland, where – after walking 1,050.75 km together – we arrived in Reykjavík, Iceland. Reykjavík is the capital of Iceland which was first established back in 874 AD!
